Murray State offers educational opportunities, sporting events, arts and a number of other entertainment options.
In 2013, Murray was voted Rand McNally’s Best of the Road, friendliest town in the U.S. This should make new comers to the area feel right at home.
Murray has an excellent public park system. Two of the main attractions are a public pool and a top rated disk golf course.
Murray is also located just a short drive from the Kentucky Lake and Land Between the Lakes national recreation area. Kentucky Lake is the second largest man made lake in the U.S. and has more miles of shore line than Florida. Land Between the Lakes (LBL) is a 170,000 acre national recreation area. LBL is home to a number of activities; mountain biking, hiking, kayaking/canoeing, swimming, fishing, camping and many more.
